GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO
- books - photography - packaging - identity - layout -
In September 2018, I started Graphic Communication at Skolen for Visuel Kommunikation in Haderslev, Denmark. Last year we learnt about the different Adobe programs, and got skills in typography, graphic design, motion graphics, app prototypes, composition and photography. This year we are learning about digital design, research-driven design, strategies and campaigns.
Here is my portfolio so far, I can't wait to share with you all the future projects!
LITLLE HOUSES ALPHABET
I love drawing fantasy houses, so I came up with idea to make an A2 poster with the alphabet shaped like houses.
I didn't want to be restricted to much by the shapes of the letters, so some of them are quite abstract. I wanted the letters to look like cute houses by themselves and look like letters when put in context with each other.

I sold handprinted t-shirts and prints - all made with linocut. The markets were promoted via their websites and on Facebook, so I did some product photos to the occasion.

IDENTITY FOR DALVA SKOV
This is the visual identity for my business. I sell prints and illustrations online and at markets. I also make linocut print workshops.
I designed a logo, icons for this website and some business cards.
Made with linocut print, Adobe Illustrator, Indesign and Adobe Photoshop, 2020
We had to create the (fictional) packaging for a jazz LP made by Jan Harbeck Quartet. The exercise was to create a universe inspired by the music.
I found the album very dreamy and mysterious but also playful. I illustrated these feelings with a flying humpback whale, a big intelligent animal, and skies with green halos and fluffy clouds. The typo forms an organised chaos, just like some of the tracks on the album.

THAT CALLS FOR A CARLSBERG
Photography exercise, where we had to make a fictive poster for Carlberg's campaign "That calls for a Carlsberg".
I wanted to make my poster open for interpretation. Is it a break from the everyday chaos or a celebration of your accomplishments? In my opinion, both situations call for a cold beer.

BROEN, INGRID SKOV
The day my mother passed away, I found this short story in one of her drawers. Under each paragraph she had written “illustration”, and I knew she had me in mind.
I immediately got the idea to set up this booklet, that I could distribute to all my mother’s loved ones.
Illustrated with watercolours edited in Adobe Photoshop, layout in Adobe Indesign, 2019
This was my exam project in the end of my first year studying Graphic Communication.
The brief was to make a logo, book and poster to celebrate the 25 years anniversary of Horsens Middelalderfestival, one of Europe's biggest medieval festivals.
Made with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign, 2019
This was a project in two parts, based on a fictive company teaching visual facilitation.
First we were asked to set up a manual on visual facilitation. We each had to make the layout and illustrations.
The next part, was to make the corporate identity based on the book, which included logo, business cards, stationary, website and adds.
